The sun is out, the heat is on, and the Fourth of July is right around the corner. Do you like to celebrate with a picnic, some pool time, or chilling out in an air conditioned movie theater? July 4th celebrates the Declaration of Independence and the birth United States. It is celebrated by many families with cake, ice cream and treats of all kinds. Don’t forget to brush (we couldn’t help adding that!) and enjoy a day of fun and relaxation on the Fourth of July!
Keller Bike Parade
The Keller Police Department is sponsoring its very first Fourth of July Bike Parade, at the Keller Town Hall. Children ages 2 to 12 are encouraged to decorate their bikes on the theme of red, white and blue. Awards will be given in three age divisions. Parade participation and viewing is free. The fun begins with registration at 9:30 am at Keller Town Hall. For a list of rules and more about the Keller Bike Parade, visit the City of Keller webpage.
Bates Park Picnic
If a picnic under towering shade trees sounds like Fourth of July fun, join members of the Old Town Keller Foundation for a pack-your-own picnic in Bates Street Park, from 11-2. The OTKF will have hot dogs, water and sodas for free, while supplies last. Polish your croquet strategy, dust off your checkerboard skills, and warm up your bean-bag tossing arms, as outdoor games will also be available. Visit the Old Town Keller Facebook page for more information.
