Q&A: Need Restorative Dentistry?

questionsanswerssignWhen you are aware that restorative dentistry will repair your oral health – but you don’t know when you might need to do so – reaching out for dental care can feel confusing. Fortunately, as long as you have a good handle on how often we suggest you visit us (and when restorations become necessary), you will feel secure in your ability to care for your smile. Consider some questions (and their answers) to clear up any qualms you might have about repairing your grin.

Questions and Answers: Restorative Care

Question: How do I know if I need restorative dentistry?

Answer: The best way to find out whether you need care is to schedule time to come in to our practice once every six months for a preventive visit. During these visits, we will examine your smile with a checkup and also clean your smile. This will allow us to detect changes (like decay) right away and suggest restorative treatment. Or, if you are dealing with an unpleasant symptom like discomfort or a broken tooth, contact us immediately for a visit.

Question: How do I choose the appropriate restorative dentistry treatment?

Answer: Don’t worry, this is our specialty – you will not have to show up knowing which treatment is right. We will make a diagnosis and offer the appropriate treatment to restore your oral health.

Question: I’m a little uneasy at the idea of restorative care – should I be worried?

Answer: Not at all. Your procedure will be completely comfortable (we provide local anesthetic as well as dental sedation). In addition, most of our restorations offer a beautiful, cosmetically sound finish.
